Team Leadership

Many teams fail to execute because their leaders don’t understand teamwork.

A lot goes into teamwork. When a group of people is put together to achieve a common goal, they don’t always do. A lot of things get in the way, unclear goals and roles, individual differences, natural team dysfunctions and lack of team maturity. Some leaders who are put in that position without being properly equipped fail to harness the full potential and power of the team. In order to succeed in their leadership responsibilities, leaders should learn the ways of teamwork. They need to:

  • have a better appreciation of the role they play as leaders in various stages of team development;
  • learn the important task of putting a team together
  • Appreciate the importance of vision, mission and values in aligning people with organizational direction (Especially when there’s a bigger team to align with)
  • They need to be aware of the natural dysfunctions of teams and be equipped on how to overcome them.
  • Be familiar with the building blocks of team effectiveness and create team norms to establish a firm hold of each building block
  • Use constructive feedback to develop their team members capability to perform.
  • Actually use these tools in leading their teams to victory.

Our Solution

A two-day workshop where participants will have an opportunity to have a better appreciation of their leadership roles. They will be guided through the process of team development where they will identify the tools and tactics they need to use in order to be effective leaders. Experiential learning, case studies, workshops and tool-based learning will be employed to achieve these goals. Our participants will go home equipped with the necessary tools and templates to start a team and lead them towards improved performance.
